Understanding the Change Readiness Framework
Essential questions about entrepreneurial change readiness, the 3Cs and the Seven Pillars.
What is entrepreneurial change readiness?
Entrepreneurial change readiness is a founder’s capacity to recognise a worthwhile opportunity, organise the people and resources needed to pursue it, and sustain the changes required to turn the idea into a viable business.
Why do founders need change readiness?
A promising idea is not enough. Founders must continually make decisions, respond to customers, mobilise people, build credibility and adapt their businesses. Change readiness helps them do this deliberately rather than reacting to each new challenge.
What is the Change Readiness Framework?
The Change Readiness Framework is an integrated system for understanding what founders need to develop and mobilise to pursue an opportunity successfully. It brings together the 3Cs of Change Readiness and the Seven Pillars of entrepreneurial capability.
What are the 3Cs of Change Readiness?
The 3Cs are Customer Orientation, Collectivism and Commitment to Impact. Together, they examine what a founder understands, the collective capacity the founder develops and the commitment the founder mobilises around the opportunity.
What is Customer Orientation?
Customer Orientation is the founder’s ability to understand the people the business serves, recognise their changing needs and use credible customer evidence to guide business decisions.
What is Collectivism?
Collectivism recognises that founders do not create change alone. They must develop relationships, capabilities, trust and collaboration across their teams, partners and wider stakeholder networks.
What is Commitment to Impact?
Commitment to Impact is the ability to keep people and resources focused on creating meaningful, sustainable value—not simply pursuing activity, visibility or short-term growth.
What are the Seven Pillars?
The Seven Pillars are the practical capabilities founders need to pursue and sustain an opportunity: Opportunity, Product, Brand, Team, Marketing, Partnerships and Growth.
How do the 3Cs and Seven Pillars work together?
The 3Cs explain the deeper orientation that shapes a founder’s decisions. The Seven Pillars show where that orientation must be translated into practical business capabilities. Together, they connect how a founder thinks with what the business must be able to do.
How is Change Readiness different from investor readiness?
Investor readiness focuses primarily on whether a business can attract and responsibly use investment. Change readiness is broader. It prepares the founder and business to pursue growth, funding, partnerships and other opportunities while maintaining the capabilities needed to implement change successfully.

Strategy meets execution

The Change-Ready Founder Diagnostic and Strategy Session
Practical guidance on the Change-Ready Founder Diagnostic, your results and the one-to-one Strategy Session.
What is the Change-Ready Founder Diagnostic?
The Change-Ready Founder Diagnostic is a structured assessment that helps you understand your current readiness to pursue, implement and sustain an important business opportunity.
Is the diagnostic a test that I can pass or fail?
No. The diagnostic is a business mirror, not an examination. It helps you see your current strengths, gaps and priorities so that you can make better-informed decisions.
Who should take the diagnostic?
It is designed for founders, entrepreneurs and business leaders preparing for growth, funding, a new product, market expansion, strategic partnerships or another significant business change.
What does the diagnostic assess?
It examines your readiness across the 3Cs and the practical capabilities represented by the Seven Pillars, helping you identify where your business is prepared and where additional work may be required.
How long does the diagnostic take?
The current diagnostic contains 48 statements and usually takes approximately 15–20 minutes to complete.
What information should I use when answering the questions?
Base your responses on evidence from your business during the last six to twelve months. Answer according to what the business has actually demonstrated, not only what you intend or hope to do.
What will I receive after completing the diagnostic?
Your results will include an overall readiness score, relevant 3C and Seven-Pillar scores, a Red-Amber-Green readiness result, an interpretation of your findings and a recommended next step.
What does the Red-Amber-Green result mean?
The RAG result provides a simple view of your current position. Green indicates stronger readiness, Amber identifies areas requiring attention, and Red highlights gaps that should be addressed before the business takes on a significant change.
Does a low score mean that my business idea is bad?
No. A low score does not necessarily judge the quality of your idea. It shows that some of the capabilities needed to pursue or sustain the opportunity may still need to be developed.
Is the diagnostic scientifically validated?
The current diagnostic is a developmental assessment designed to support reflection, structured conversation and action planning. It should not be treated as a psychometrically validated or predictive test.
What is the Change Readiness Strategy Session?
The Strategy Session is a guided conversation in which you and Dr Glory Enyinnaya examine your diagnostic results, clarify the opportunity you are pursuing and decide which readiness gaps require attention first.
What happens during the Strategy Session?
You will review your results, examine the evidence behind your scores, identify the most important strategic constraint and determine the practical actions needed to strengthen your readiness.
How should I prepare for the session?
Complete the diagnostic honestly and gather relevant evidence, such as customer feedback, performance figures, team information, partnership records, financial data or plans connected to the opportunity you are pursuing.
What will I leave the Strategy Session with?
You will leave with a clearer interpretation of your readiness, a defined strategic priority, recommended next steps and a focused 30-day action plan.
Will the diagnostic or Strategy Session guarantee funding or growth?
No. They are designed to help you make wiser decisions, strengthen your business and prepare more responsibly for change. They do not guarantee funding, revenue, acceptance into an accelerator or any particular business outcome.
Implementation starts here
The Change Ready Founder Accelerator
Practical guidance on the 90-day accelerator, implementation support, accountability and the founder community.
What is The Change Ready Founder Accelerator?
It is a structured 90-day accelerator that helps founders act on the priorities identified through the Change Readiness Diagnostic and Strategy Session.
Who is The Change Ready Founder Accelerator for?
It is for founders who understand what needs to change in their businesses but require structure, practical tools, expert feedback and accountability to implement it.
How is the Accelerator different from the Diagnostic and Strategy Session?
The diagnostic shows you where you currently stand, while the Strategy Session helps you decide what to prioritise. The Accelerator supports you as you put that strategy into practice.
Why does the Accelerator run for 90 days?
Ninety days provides enough time to move beyond discussion, complete meaningful actions, gather evidence and review progress while keeping the implementation period focused and manageable.
What will I work on during the Accelerator?
Your work will be guided by your diagnostic results and strategic priority. This may involve clarifying your opportunity, improving your product, strengthening your brand, developing your team, refining your marketing, building partnerships or preparing for growth.
How is my implementation priority selected?
Your priority is based on the opportunity you are pursuing, the evidence from your diagnostic and the readiness gap most likely to limit progress. The Accelerator focuses your attention instead of asking you to fix everything at once.
What support is included in the Accelerator?
The Change Ready Founder approach combines structured implementation, practical tools, expert feedback, milestones and accountability to help you move from intention to action.
What is the role of the community?
The community gives founders a supportive environment in which to share progress, learn from other entrepreneurs, exchange practical insights and remain accountable while implementing change.
How will I know whether I am making progress?
You will track agreed milestones, weekly actions and evidence of implementation. Progress is measured by what has changed in the business—not simply by whether you have completed the Accelerator content.
What should I expect to achieve by the end of the Accelerator?
You should finish with a clearer strategic direction, stronger capability in your priority area, documented evidence of action and a more change-ready business. The precise result will depend on your starting point, chosen priority and consistency of implementation.
